What We Stand For

Based in High Wycombe, the home of British manufactured furniture, Union Designs by Upholstery Trading Ltd manufactures an extensive range of soft seating, office, technical and specialist chairs. We also carry out bespoke design work and offer re-upholstery alternatives.

Started in 1998, Upholstery Trading has built a reputation of delivering well-made contract grade furniture and over the past few years started working with some talented designers as it continues to grow its contemporary soft seating range.

At Union Desings by Upholstery Trading Ltd we understand that there are always occasions when our off the shelf standard furniture is not quite what you’re looking for.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for please discuss your requirements and we will design and manufacture to your brief, to ensure we achieve the desired end result. We have an excellent reputation for the quality and finish of our bespoke work and our ability to manufacture a working solution to a design brief.


Re-upholstery

At Union Designs by Upholstery Trading Ltd we are delighted to offer our first class re-upholstery service to both private and commercial clients.

Our attention to detail is second to none and guarantees a quality finish, our highly skilled upholsterers can revive your tired or worn covers, re-spring and repair frames, bring your cushions back to life.

Upholstery Trading Ltd started in 1989 and over the years we have built an enviable reputation for manufacturing commercial seating for the contract market. Everything from the frame construction and upholstery through to assembly is carried out in the UK by our highly skilled workforce.

Upholstery Trading Ltd is committed to quality throughout design, manufacture and customer service and is currently working towards gaining ISO9001 accreditation.

Our seating products comply with the latest industry standards and where appropriate, are manufactured in accordance with:

  • BS 5459 (1990 Part 2) - Office Pedestal seating for use by persons up to 120kg in weight
  • BS EN 1021:1 1994 - Fabric flammability (cigarette test)
  • BS EN 1021:2 1994 - Fabric flammability (match test)
  • BS EN 1021:2 1994 - Fabric flammability (match test)
  • BS 4735 1974 - CMHR foam flammability
  • BS 4875 1985 Part 1 - Strength and durability of structure

Acredditations & Certification

British Standards Quality Management Systems: BS EN ISO 9001: 2008

Upholstery Trading are currently working towards achieving this accreditation, as we understand the value and importance of nationally recognised accreditations which demonstrate the professionalism of the Company.


Upholstery Trading Limited is proud to confirm that all products are guaranteed against defective components and workmanship and when the furniture is used correctly, offer the following guarantee:

  • Soft Seating – 5 Years
  • Office Chairs – 5 Years
  • 24 Hour Use – 2 Years

This excludes the fabric which is covered by the Manufacturers own warranty/guarantee and all moving parts are covered for 1 year from date of manufacture.

All products are inspected before despatch. Upholstery Trading Ltd undertake to repair or replace and structural part which proves to be faulty, when used under normal office conditions, provided it is returned to our High Wycombe premises, carriage paid and within warranty.

Delivery

Standard Deliveries

All delivery dates will be confirmed when you receive your order acknowledgement; any change to this date will be communicated to you via email. If you require your order sooner than confirmed, please call the office and discuss your requirements.

Direct Deliveries

Deliveries can be made to alternative premises where requested and a delivery charge will be quoted accordingly.

Checking the Deliveries

All deliveries must be checked when off loaded and products accounted for. Delivery notes signed ‘Unchecked’ will not be accepted under any circumstance.

Damaged Goods

In the unlikely event of your products arriving damaged, the delivery note must be signed and ‘Damaged’ written on the paperwork. Upholstery Trading Limited will not be held responsible for damage occurred after the products have been off-loaded.
